It’s a common fact that while very popular tourist attractions, yacht charter Mallorca and the Balearics are only seasonal attractions due to the climatic changes that render sunbathing and warm waters impossible.

Now it seems local authorities are trying to close in the gap between the summer and winter seasons by making the island more popular during the off-season period. This effort is aimed at revitalizing not only the yacht charter industry which sees dramatic decreases in winter, but also the rental property market that has a similar fate.

Public institutions on the island of yacht charter Mallorca such as the Port Authority and the Airport Authority  have joined forces with private companies such Air Berlin and Iberostar to set up massive PR campaigns aimed at promoting the islands.

The idea on which this entire campaign of Mallorca 365 is based is that most of the people prefer several mini breaks during a whole year, rather than a fortnight of vacation. This means that yacht charter Mallorca can provide them with sun and warm waters in the summer, but during its mild winters, they can come here to enjoy a weekend of music, art, culture, cuisine, fiestas, wellness and shopping.

Also, it’s been pointed out that the large Palma marina caters to a year-round series of events. Indeed, as the locals or ex-pats might confirm, the sailing season never really ends in Mallorca, although the marinas are much fuller from April to October and especially in August.

When you take into consideration the fact that winters in Mallorca are pretty mild with little rainfall and temperatures that go well into the 20s, you realize the true all-season potential of the island. On top of that, there are a of sporting activities you can engage in year-round on the island such as golf, cycling, football or tennis and, in fact, there are many professional athletes that come to yacht charter Mallorca to hone their skills during the off-season.
